Gary Mills - uffar o foi!
Ymddiheuriadau bod yr anecdôt isod yn Saesneg, ond roedd wedi ei bostio ar negesfwrdd rwy'n fynychu ac rwy'n credu ei fod yn haeddu sylw:
I was stood next to the opposition dugout during the Droylsden/Alfreton match today.
About ten minutes from time Droylsden striker Jody Banim was involved in a minor scuffle wuth an Alfreton defender as the ball was running out of play. No arms were raised but the defender threw himself to the ground, clutching his face.
Despite the howls from the home crowd the referee seemed to fall for this and asked for Banim to go to him. As he had his back to me I could see he was reaching for the red card.
So could Alfreton manager - and, lest we forget, European cup winner - Gary Mills. Mills quite openly said to those in the crowd around him that no contact had been made and that his player was shamming. As the referee waited for Banim to join him Mills shouted to get his attention, and when he did so said that "if you send this player off I'll withdraw my number 4 (the player involved) and we'll play with ten men."
The referee clearly took this on board, went to his other pocket and gave Banim a yellow.
